Author Bio

Yarrow Paisley was born shortly after the American Bicentennial. He graduated from Bard College with a BA in Literature and has since worked in various professions, including book clerk, photographer, lab grunt, gambler, clipboard canvasser, factory drudge, and letter carrier. His fiction has appeared in a number of journals and anthologies over the years, among them 3rd bed, Web Conjunctions, Gargoyle, Metazen, Abjective, Pear Noir, Vestiges, Sein und Werden, Axolotl, Strange Tales V (Tartarus Press), Dadaoism (Chômu Press), and Marked to Die (Snuggly Books). His debut collection Mendicant City is a SNUGGLY BOOK. I, No Other, his first full-length collection, is currently aging in oak barrels deep inside Vermont’s own Whiskey Tit, publication details to be announced in due course. Yarrow lives in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts.

Books!

I, No Other
Coming Soon!
My first full length collection, currently suckling at the Whiskey Tit.
I’ll try to unlaze myself and put up some interesting info soon.
For example: I read aloud the other night (11-15) to a group of, well, not children, but other sorts of people who like to be read to. Alcohol was present, so definitely not for children. Indeed, the words coming out of my mouth … not for children! This event happened in Portland, Maine, and I got to meet all the other Whiskey Titters! Preview copies of the book were sold, but there will be a finalized version offered for sale in the near future, at which point I will consider it “released” and provide links. Why, you wonder, am I writing this news in here instead of on the blog part of the site? I don’t know …
Mendicant City
A book! A Snuggly Slim, I meantersay. From Snuggly Books. 46 pages. 6 bucks.
What kind of book? A collection: fictions, short ones. Perhaps they are prose poems? Nah.
What are they, then? Follow me.
Exhalations: hot gases from my inner psychic cavities.
Exhumations: my youth tramping out from its grave. I never filled it in, didn’t even close the lid on the coffin. I.e.: no barrier between the ghoul and all of you.
Exaltations: no balloon but the Universe itself contains my self-love.
Available now! (As of August 8)
Order at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
Also available at other fine retailers, I dunno which. And of course, from Snuggly Itself.
